The ‘Money,Sex, Power’ collection has been over a year in the making and will feature a series of over 70 drawings and paintings exploring these core forces by portraying two models and Darren himself in a corridor of images.
The artist’s muses are portrayed in a series of poses conveying their personality and individuality. The narrative of the artist as director, and models as subjects, is followed throughout the series leading to the climax of the final masterpiece portraying the artist and models together. The sequence of artworks is a commentary on the 3 motivating forces in society and the viewer/subject dynamic. It also references various themes from the history of western art.
This amazing collection of artwork will tour 10 major commercial galleries this autumn and the original works will be complemented by a new series of limited edition prints.
This is the first major tour of Darren’s work for over 2 years and is a massive, and unmissable, opportunity for art lovers and collectors to see the work of the one of the world’s finest artists.
This immensely exciting set of new works include some very large, highly detailed paintings, including many stunning self portraits of the master artist himself. As many may well know, Darren does not often do BIG, nor does he frequently paint himself. This is a chance for you to visit the exhibition and see both rolled into one! Or go that step further and invest in a very rare piece of art. Limited edition prints will also be available.
Darren Baker will be in attendance on at least one day in each of the event locations. So, if you would like to meet Darren in person for a chat over a glass of bubbly or a cuppa, then here is your chance. No invitation needed, just turn up on the day, but please take time to register your interest (at the bottom of the page) in the venue you would like to attend. We do not want to run short of champagne now do we?
